What can your child learn at summer camp?
An amazing amount, considering that Chester County Art Association offers a diverse array of classes – perhaps more than any other children's camp. Some of the more unusual camp classes include a batik and marbelizing workshop, a fashion illustration class and a dark room class designed for young photographers.
Aside from its diverse offerings, the camp is taught by a staff of experienced teachers who typically make their living in the fields they teach. The mural painting class, for instance, is taught by Anne Yoch, who runs her own decorative arts and mural business. A scriptwriting and filmmaking course is offered by Christopher Beattie , a professional scriptwriter and camera man who has worked in the film industry for 16 years.
There are also classes in botanical drawing, Anime cartooning and teen jewelry. Still others have a broad focus, introducing art history and new techniques to young artists such as Chris Chadwick’s, Excellent Adventures in Art.
Session I - June 20 - July 3
Session II - July 7 - July 18
Session III - July 21 - August 1
Session IV - August 4 - August 15
Each Camp Session is two weeks long (10 classes).
