Catherine Quillman is an artist who frequently uses collage, pen & Ink and print-making in her work. She is a former Arts reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer who describes her art mission this way: “I like to create visual narratives that “hook” the viewer with interesting details and a sense of place. “
As an art teacher, she tries to inspire others to see art as a story-telling medium that is best made when you’re having fun. She earned a certificate in teaching from the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project (PAWLP), the oldest program of its kind at West Chester University. The program is geared towards helping students of all ages learn to write. She also took part in the popular summer camp on campus called “Young Writers/Young Readers.”
Her training in children’s book illustration was completed at the Children’s Authors & Illustrators Summer Workshop hosted by the Highlights Foundation in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
