Wendy Kershner has agreed to serve as the Executive Director for the Chester County Art Association, and we are delighted to have her take the reins of the operation of the Art Association and to help us shape our future.
Wendy is the Principal of Axia Marketing in West Reading, Pennsylvania, where she finds creative solutions for clients to increase their effectiveness and efficiency. Her consulting portfolio includes: refinement of brands as well as development of business and marketing strategies, review of communications and consolidating messages, and identification of opportunities.
Wendy is a marketing and communications expert with diverse fields of experience and an artistic sensibility. Her experience includes serving as the Interim Executive Director at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in Reading and service as the Marketing Director for the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra in Lancaster. She has also directed strategic development as a Senior Manager for the Direct Investor Group of The Vanguard Group in Philadelphia.
Her business side is balanced by her artistic side as she still works and shows as a printmaker.
“My artwork is a metaphor for my life philosophy that it’s all about the journey. I chose a passion as my college major, fine arts, and in my freshman year I fell in love with an art form I wasn’t familiar with—intaglio printmaking. I became thrilled by the “happy accidents” or mistakes that would occur and lead me in new and unexpected directions. My comfort with the new and the unknown, and letting it guide me and inform my next steps, is something I bring to everything I do.”
Wendy is excited to continue and promote the rich history and heritage of the Chester County Art Association. Wendy brings an objective view to how we function and where we might be able to improve the services, classes, and programs we offer. Wendy leads our CCAA Staff, now comprised of: Maria Tesone as our Education Coordinator, Angela Deal Meanix as our Communications Coordinator, Karen Delaney as our Exhibition and Art Event Coordinator, and Priscilla Dahl as our Ceramics Technician, and Rebecca Norman as our recently arrived Intern Assistant.
