This course explores the dynamic art forms of cartooning and comic art. Students gain a working knowledge of techniques and concepts used by professional cartoonists and comic illustrators but with an emphasis on fun and learning. The sessions will cover the various styles of cartoon and comic art. Students will be encouraged to create their own characters as well as develop sequential art from plots they draft.

This class will be all about tile making!  Students will be shown mosaics throughout the ages as well as current floor and wall designs.  We will discuss pattern making and then we will start creating our tiles.  Students will be able to explore surface texture including sculpting low relief tiles as well as smooth detailed glaze design.  Tiles will be adhered to wall board and ready to hang!  A $40 material fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
