CCAA’s latest photography show was juried by the Philadelphia photographer, Tsuyoshi Ito. The Tokyo native recently established a community gallery and studio space called “Project Basho” in the old Kensington section of in Philadelphia. Project Basho – Japanese for place – offers classes (both introductory and advanced) as well as specialized workshops on historical processes and other formal issues in photography. Designed to promote photography as a fine art, the studio features 10 enlargers and other equipment essential to such techniques as palladium printing. Basho’s grand opening this past fall attracted 300 photographers with 1,200 entries.


The Chester County Art Association receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
