Pumpkin Carve!

Mark your calendars for our annual Pumpkin Carve at CCAA—a family favorite.

Wednesday, October *27* from 5-8pm.

Lisa Wolfe Music, Build-a-Band will perform, always a treat. 

CCAA will supply the pumpkins & the paint.  You supply the carving tools and the imagination. Call ahead to register or just come that night as a drop-in. Cost carving is $10 and enters you in the contest for a free art class or 2 tickets to next year's Gala.  Cost for painting a pumpkin is $2-$5 depending on the pumpkin. The forms are attached below. Visit from the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels outreach program

On a Thursday morning in August, 2008, the Chester County Art Association’s summer art camp was visited by the Philadelphia Zoo’s outreach program.  Over one hundred children were treated to a presentation by the “zoo on Wheels” on Thursday morning at the CCAA facility on Bradford Avenue in West Chester.

$5,000 contribution from Exelon Generation in Kennett Square PA

The Chester County Art Association recently received a $5,000.00 contribution from Exelon Generation in Kennett Square, PA.   The funds will be used to support our artREACH program offered at the Garage Community & Youth Center in Kennett Square, PA.  A three week free summer art camp was offered for the third consecutive year at the Garage for children and teens.  There are also free Saturday art classes offered throughout the school year at this location. Chester County Art Association Arts Award Fund receives grant

The Chester County Art Association has received a $1,873.43 grant from the Philadelphia Foundation.   The “Chester County Art Association Arts Award Fund supports CCAA’s “Excellence Awards Program” for exhibiting artists.  Announcement of the grant was made by R. Andrew Swinney, President of the Foundation, whose Board of Managers approved the grant on June 2, 2008.
 

Van Gogh’s Blues wins Blue Ribbon at 2008 Philadelphia Flower Show

For the third year in a row, Chester County Art Association has participated in a competitive class division in the Philadelphia Flower Show. This year the art association won a Blue Ribbon! Read more »

Starbucks “Make Your Mark” Grant Program

As part of the ongoing collaboration between Starbucks Coffee Company and the Chester County Art Association, local artists had a chance to enter their work for display consideration at a local Starbucks.  The first jurying session, which took place in February, resulted in dozens of applicants but only a few were selected to display their work in the new Starbucks store at High and Gay Street in West Chester.

Dennis Haggerty’s retrospective drew hundreds of visitors. It also captured the attention of the Philadelphia Inquirer, where longtime art reviewer Victoria Donohoe, described the exhibit as a “handsome show.” Read more »

Willy Wonka! May 2007

The Golden Ticket Found…
Thanks to a partnership with West Chester University and Chester County Art Association, thousands of young students enjoyed a private showing of Willy Wonka, an original Kennedy Center musical based on Roald Dahl's children’s novel. The performance, held in May at the university campus, was an one-time only event and gave students a rare opportunity to see a popular Kennedy Center production that is now on its second national tour.
