Japanese Anime! Students will work on developing their anime drawing skills focusing on figure development, panel drawing, painting, inking and much more. We will also look at current and popular anime/manga artists such as Hayoa Miyazaki (Spirited Away), Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto), Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon), Yamaha Corperation (Vocaloids), Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z), and Matsuri Hino (Vampire Knight). $30 materials fee is payable to the instructor during the first class.
This fashion club is designed for students interested in learning about all aspects of fashion through discussions and weekly assignments. We will also discuss latest trends, celebrity style watch, and learn about top designers. Students will be encouraged to engage in conversations and discussions with fellow club members. Students will also learn to develop their own personal style, fashion sketching, creation inspiration/mood boards, and portfolio development. Students should bring a black spiral-bound sketchbook at least 8x10 and a variety of Hb, B, H pencils, and favorite fashion magazines to share during the first meeting. Students will be responsible for bringing $5 per meeting for dues and materials.
Build a diverse portfolio, draw from direct observation a variety of subject matter. Using charcoal, pencil, pastel and ink, the class will explore several drawing techniques. A materials list is available in the office.
Make a necklace, bracelets and earrings using a wide range of material including fabric, wire, beads, paper and clay. Students will learn different techniques and make pieces of art which they can wear. A materials fee is payable to the instructor during the first class.
This class is designed for those who truly love detailed drawing and anime. Learn the art of fine point details for anime characters and explore shading, color blending and other details of a finished character. All Levels welcome. Please bring sketchbook, pencils, erasers and black fine point markers. A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor during the first class.
This pottery course is open to beginners as well as advanced students. The instructor will work with students individually to equip them with basic knowledge of pinch, coil, and slab as well as cultivate ideas of the advanced students. A $40 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
Use acid etching wax resist to create your own design or a traditional design on the beautiful green shell of an emu egg. Whether you have done pysanky (pysanky means "to write" and is a centuries-old wax resist dye method of decorating eggs) before or not, give it a try! A materials fee is payable to the instructor during the first class.
