Roe Murray graduated from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pa., with a degree in Art Education, pursued graduate courses at Tyler School of Art and Arcadia University. Roe has continued her artistic studies with some prominent artists. Roe expresses herself with oil paints, but also uses watercolors, pastels, and other mediums. Her favorite subject matter is landscape and still life and she especially enjoys using bright colors and thick brushstrokes. Her style is a blend of impressionism and contemporary realism. She likes to paint things that stop her in her tracks and take her breath away. This captures the tranquility of life’s beauty at a fleeting moment of time.
Her art affiliations are The Howard Pyle Studio Group, Wilmington, DE, The Delaware Valley Art League, in PA., and the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters. She has taught Art in Pennsylvania public and private schools, The Wayne Art Center, in Wayne, PA., The Main Line Art Center, and privately from her home. Currently Roe teaches at The Delaware Art Museum, Chester County Art Association, West Chester, Pa., and Art Partners in Coatesville, Pa. She has exhibited, and continues to exhibit in shows and galleries.
