SHERI VON URFF brings to CCAA an extensive background in education, the arts, healthcare, and program development for children and teenagers. With a BS in Education and MS in Art/Psychology, she is the founder of the non-profit woolpower.org which has dedicated itself globally to the art of knitting. Her enthusiasm for the value of the creative process and innovatively utilizing the arts to educate are coupled with a lifetime of involvement with the arts, as evidenced in her work with the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Academy of Fine Arts, and the Woodmere Museum. Her favorite quote is ,”Creativity is contagious, pass it on.”, by Albert Einstein.
Her commitment to using education and the arts as her foundation over the past 40 years has included diverse community events, special projects, committee involvement and training. Her personal artistic passions are with the mediums of collage, photography and knitting. Over the past several years, her interest in story telling has grown, understanding the cultural values and developmental areas that are enriched and facilitated by this process.
