Mandala Art Retreat

Register today for a retreat style mandala art class with artist Vidya Shyamsundar!

Join us on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Chester County Art Association to experience the art of painting mandalas.

A mandala is a geometric meditative art that embodies beauty, harmony, and wellness. The repertoire of symmetrical motifs in mandalas indicates that life is a continuum.

In this three-hour retreat, you will create a beautiful 6"x 6" acrylic painting of a mandala and enjoy the experience of painting your unique piece while you sip Indian Chai and immerse yourself in meditative music. The retreat begins with sharing gratitude, followed by a Sanskrit Prayer, a short presentation about mandala art, and storytelling.

Feel the inner tranquility that helps you stay focused and regain your sense of calm and purpose.
Treat yourself with the gift of self-care because you deserve it!

Price: $100/ person. All Supplies & Materials Included. No Art Background Required.

Session 2: Join us on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Chester County Art Association to create your very own recycled art figure.

The Tin Can Man-O-Man workshop is a fun, hands-on class that teaches participants to see beyond the intended use of discarded objects like tin cans, and calls upon the imaginative powers of the children to find ways to transform the material into fanciful figures, rudimentary robots and playful personae.

Pre-punched cans of all shapes and sizes will be used as the basis for each Tin Can Person while wire, soaker hose, bingo balls, Xmas ornaments and recycled beads will form the arms and legs for these tiny robots. Additional adornment is created by each individual, and has ranged from sparkling costume jewelry eyes to colorful telephone wire curls and ringlets atop the head of the well-dressed Tin Can Man or Woman.

This workshop is free to attend, but we do require that you register so that we have the proper amount of materials available for our participants.

Price: FREE. All Supplies & Materials Included.
No Art Background Required.
