We believe strongly in making the arts accessible to everyone, which is why community engagement and outreach is one of our main goals. In each of our locations, we strive to strengthen our community through the arts and give people the opportunity to experience it in different ways.
Closings & Holidays We are closed on all major holidays. We follow the West Chester School District in the winter for delays and closings. For additional updates on closings, please follow our Facebook & Instagram accounts.
▪ West Chester - Main Facility - Currently closed due to COVID-19
The hub for the majority of our classes, workshops, gallery shows, events, and summer camps is our West Chester building, located at 100 North Bradford Avenue, West Chester, PA 19382.
On the main level, we have two formal galleries, Allinson Gallery and Huston Gallery. We exhibit artwork by local and regional artists in these spaces from September through May. The galleries are closed in the summer to host our summer art camps. In the larger Allinson Gallery, we typically showcase group exhibits, juried and non-juried, comprised of artists of all levels. In our smaller Huston Gallery, we typically showcase solo and other curated exhibitions. On the lower level, we have 6 studio spaces where we hold art classes and open studios throughout the week. Additionally, there is a large outdoor patio, an art library and offices. We also open up our spaces to renters, who use the studios and galleries for various activities including private events and customized programming. Visit our Rentals section for more information about renting our spaces and designing your own custom art programs. For more information about participating in group art exhibits, visit our Exhibits section, Submit Artwork page.
Gallery & Administration Hours: Monday - Saturday: 9am - 5pm (Closed on Saturdays during the summer) Opening receptions for art exhibitions are typically held on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 5pm to 7pm. These are free and open to the public.
▪ The Garage in Kennett Square - Classes currently suspended due to COVID-19 We proudly partner with The Garage Youth Center in Kennett Square to provide free and low-cost art programs for the greater Kennett community. Located at 115 S Union St, Kennett Square, PA 19348, The Garage provides after-school activities and college/career prep programs for middle and high school students.
We also coordinate many community projects! These have included creating a mural with the residents of Friends Home Kennett with funding from the Kennett Run, and taking part in the Kennett Farmer’s Market, Clover Market and Kennett Square Art Strolls that are held throughout the year.
